glina setup

Invocation

glina setup [--check] [--dry-run]

Purpose

Provision Blender, uv and the matching MCP for Blender addon. Inspect the installed tools without changing the machine.

Inputs and options

  • --check reports installed or missing Blender and uv without installing them. It marks the addon not-checked; use glina doctor to probe the live Blender connection.
  • --dry-run reports would-install steps without executing installers.

Output and state

On macOS it plans Homebrew installs; on Linux it plans apt/snap and the uv installer. Without --check or --dry-run, missing tools may be installed, then uvx mcp-for-blender install-addon installs the addon bundled with the MCP server. The upstream installer leaves an unchanged addon in place. It prints {healthy, steps} and exits 0/1 according to provisioning. healthy: true from --check means the tools are present, not that Blender's running addon is connected or current; run glina doctor to verify that round trip.

Refusals

Other operating systems refuse with unsupported platform: <os> (install Blender + uv manually) inside the CLI's error: <message> envelope. Install failures, including failed to install blender-addon: <message>, exit 1. A check that finds missing tools returns healthy: false and exit 1. An addon installed on disk but not active in the running Blender process is reported by glina doctor as a failed sculptor check; setup does not silently restart Blender.
